Pastor Jono Wong is CCCV through and through, having been a part of the church since birth. During his time at CCCV, he came to know God personally and accepted Jesus as his Saviour. He also spent much of his time serving his church community, in various roles such as youth leader and worship leader.
After working in the tennis industry for 2 years, he decided to pursue theological studies at the Melbourne School of Theology, whilst serving at CCCV as an intern pastor. After graduating in 2015, he moved into a new role as an associate pastor. He now serves as the congregational pastor of the English congregation (LifeSpring).
He is a really down to earth kind of guy who just loves to tell others about Jesus. He is married to Leanne and is a proud father of three boys: Judson, Isaiah and Christian.
Pastor John grew up in Hong Kong and became a Christian during his secondary school years. During his university years, he actively started a fellowship in the dormitory and shared the gospel. He has worked in the field of internet technology and has served as a ministry assistant in a missionary organisation and as an assistant officer in a Christian social service organisation.
In 2013, he did a working holiday in Australia, mainly staying in Queensland and South Australia. In 2015, he enrolled in the China Graduate School of Theology and graduating in 2018, he began full-time pastoral ministry at a church, which continued until the end of 2023. He and his family then immigrated to Australia, and is currently serving as a congregational pastor of the Cantonese congregation of CCCV.
Pastor John married in 2012, and he and his wife have three children: a daughter named Elpis and twin boys named Nimrod and Enos.
He firmly believes that God’s Word can transform lives and inspire hearts. He has a deep desire to work together with the church, filled with vitality and hope, to proclaim the gospel of the kingdom of God.
Pastor Jeremy Hu is married to Monica. He lived in Beijing, China after graduating from university. He was a sales person in the medical equipment industry, in charge of domestic marketing and project management. His mother had a serious illness in 2011, and while he was with her in the hospital, his whole family placed their trust in Jesus by God’s grace.
Pastor Hu married Monica in 2012. They both received a specific call to serve God: “But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord (Joshua 24:14-16)”. Pastor Hu settled in Australia in 2013, entered the Melbourne School of Theology (Chinese department) as a full-time student in 2019 and completed his degree in 2022. His ministry experience includes serving churches in China and in Australia as a youth group leader, short-mission leader and camp leader. He also participated actively in the student union at MST.
In 2021, Pastor Hu began serving the CCCV Mandarin congregation as an intern and was appointed as the pastor of Mandarin congregation in September 2022. Pastor Hu and Monica feel deeply about God’s amazing grace and are willing to follow God wherever He calls – “Never forget God’s calling and always put Him the first”. Pastor Hu and Monica have a real heart to build the church together with the rest of CCCV and to see God’s Kingdom grow.
Pastor Michael Yu is from Hong Kong and has a wife Ivy and daughter Breanna. Ivy was a social worker and later became a lecturer in a technical college.
Michael went to college in the US after finishing high school in Hong Kong. Through the grace of God, he came to know God and accepted Christ in 1993. He then met Ivy in the International Bible Fellowship. Eventually they got married in 1996. They both left California and returned to Hong Kong in 1997 after graduation and completing their practicum (Michael was in the computer industry and Ivy in the field of social work).
Soon after Michael returned to Hong Kong, he worked in his father’s construction business. In 2000, Michael and Ivy participated in a church planting movement with two other couples from North Point Alliance Church. The movement eventually led to the formation of the Christians and Missionary Alliance Tung Chung Church in 2002.
With the calling from God in 2003, Michael went to Bethel Bible Seminary where he spent quite some time in the areas of pastoral counselling, chaplaincy and market place ministry. Upon his graduation in 2006, he was invited to serve in two of the Alliance churches subsequently.
After 10 years serving in Hong Kong, Michael was called to serve as pastor in CCCV mainly in the Cantonese Congregation. His family then relocated to Melbourne in 2016.
